How I Became a Coach

I originally began my career in the financial services business where I was an executive at a large firm for 10 years. I loved what I did until I didn’t anymore. The job became too political and I began to see that the higher positions I would be reaching and striving for were positions I did not even want.  Because of this, I began to think about what I wanted to do with my life and my career.  I had always wanted to start my own business, but I had no idea what I would do.  Then one day I was driving to work and the words “life coach” popped in my head.  I had no idea what one was or what they did so I went home that night and looked up life coach.  When I researched life coach, I realized it was everything I always wanted to be! I had been able to describe my perfect job since high school, but I never knew what that perfect job would be called until I read about coaching.  That was it, I wanted to be a coach. I spent about a month thinking about how I would transition to coaching, and then one day I walked into work and I just quit.  The rest is history.

I have been a personal and business coach since 2004 and I love it! I love working with individuals and small business owners to identify their goals and to help them achieve those goals. I coach using a holistic approach looking at the entire person and all aspects of their life. I believe it is important to take a gloabal perspective when looking at achieving goals if one wishes to be successful, because not all people have the same aspirations and not all people are driven by the same thing.
