Summary: Finally, some real answers . . .
Comment: I have always had problem skin with acne being my main issue. I've tried a lot of products, but all of them lead to flaky, irritated skin. After a while I gave up and used the "benign neglect" skin care regimen. After reading this book and finding out my skin type I have been able to shop with more confidence and am in the process of implementing the suggestions from the book. So far, so good . . .

Summary: Invaluable information...
Comment: I was convinced that my skin was oily because of frequent breakouts. After taking the test in this book I determined that my skin is actually dry. I purchased a couple of the recommended products in the lower price point and have seen such an improvement in my skin! I would have never considered myself to have bad skin - just a few breakouts and some redness that makeup could cover. Now that I've changed my products, I feel confident going without makeup and feel that I glow constantly. I also liked how Leslie addresses anti-aging products & procedures. It's very easy to spend a lot of money on something that could actually make your skin wors! This is an invaluable resource!

Summary: Helpful information but.....
Comment: After countless attempts to find the right products for my face, I eagerly waiting for my book to arrive. When it did I quickly did the questions about skin types, found my skin type and was amazed to find I was not alone. I enjoyed "The Skin Type Solution" but was disappointed when I was not told what make-up products to use for my skin type, I had the only skin type that Dr. Baumann does not give "foundation" recommendations for. My hopes were once again dashed, I even went to her website and found some blogs where others (with my skin type) made their own suggestion, but when I did find the products, the bloggers suggested, my results were less than good. Most of the items on her list I already knew about and had tried and others on her list I could not find anywhere. For the most part this book does give good information about skin types, however, when I counted the number of pages dedicated to information about my skin, I was a bit disappointed. After all not all the products Dr. Baumann suggests are found in my large populated city. Perhaps this book is "Dated (spring 2008)" along with her website. I'll use the info she provided, but just not the products I guess.
