Comment: I purchased this book with plans of rebuilding a TH350 transmission. I read through the book and it is quite thorough. It was recommended to me by several other gentlemen who had undertaken rebuilding this tranny and had successfully accomplished the task (by using the book).

This is one of those types of things when you have more time than money and can't afford to put the transmission in a shop for it to be rebuilt. You are going to need a few specialized tools or access to them to get this done.

Summary: Great book, especially for a novice
Comment: Before starting my current restoration project, I knew absolutely nothing about working on cars - much less working on an automatic transmission. I purchased this book, built up my courage, and decided to attempt to rebuild my transmission completely on my own. With the help of the numerous pictures and detailed instructions, I had no problem doing my own transmission work. The author gives you a basic understanding of how a transmission works, details how to tear down the transmission, what to look for when inspecting the parts for ware, and how to put everything back together again. With this book, even a beginner can rebuild a transmission.

Comment: I can only second what the first reader review of this book sais. I was amazed how the author takes you by the hand and how he does not forget to tell you even about the smallest details you might forget about! Tackling a th350 rebuild is something really advanced, even for a quite experienced gearhead but with this book you will be on the safe side! Good Luck!
