Editorial Reviews:

Ariadne Evans is the proud owner of her very own knitting shop. And she's just got herself in a stitch.

When Ariadne enters her knitting store one day to find longtime customer Edith Perry strangled to death with homespun yarn, she fears her life is about to come undone -- again, since she's still getting over a divorce. Her worries increase when she's questioned by detective Joshua Pierce, who may or may not have designs on her. While Josh pieces together the details of the crime, clues about Ariadne's ties to Miss Perry come to light...and a bizarre pattern unfolds. Now it's up to Ariadne to do some sleuthing of her own. Can she untangle the investigation without getting snarled up into too much trouble? That depends on whether the killer is as crafty as she is....

Summary: A good read
Comment: The characters and locale are well-drawn and the plot moves along well. Knitting and designing are integral to the plot, not just tacked on to make the book fit the genre.

Summary: Excellent Mystery with A Knitting Theme
Comment: This entertaining mystery introduces us to Ariadne Evans, owner of a knitting shop in a small town in Rhode Island. When one of her cantankerous customers is found strangled to death in her shop, Ariadne gets involved in trying to find the murderer. The mystery in this story was very well-told. Although the murder scene is a yarn shop, there is not so much talk about knitting in this book. Non-knitters will enjoy this book as well!

The characters in this story were well developed and believable. I really liked the main character Ariadne. She is a person I'd like to know. I'm definitely looking forward to the next story in this series.

Summary: Light reading
Comment: This is a cute little book for someone who is looking for a quick, yarn-related story. The main character seemed a bit naive in her lack of sensiblity of self-danger when a murder takes place in her shop. That aside, it was entertaining to read about her love for yarn, ordering yarn, knitting for relaxation, etc. All of those things that we knitters love about the fiber, make us occasionally read about other knitters in other cities, no matter what the story line.

Summary: Has you guessing until the very end
Comment: First book in her new knitting series. Ariadne enters her knitting shop one morning to find the body of Edith Perry strangled behind the front counter. Ari knows that she should be more alarmed, but that's what you get for being the nasty person that Edith was. Unfortunately, there are too many suspects two of which are Diane and her husband Joe both of whom are close friends of Ari's. Enter Josh Pierce the new and quite cute police detective and you have an interesting who done it. Kruger does a great Christie-like job in throwing out numerous suspects and reasons only to have you say "oh, I should have known".
