Summary: Long winded with the same recurring ideals over and over and ovre
Comment: I guarantee the 5 star reviews are from friends and family of the author. This book could have been summed up in a total of 10 pages, yet continues to say the same thing over and over and over and over again.
You want to make money... leverage your assets and "do what banks do.. continually re-invest money to make it grow". basic concept is that when you buy a property and rent it out, this counts little against you since someone else is footing the monthly bill. then take more money and continue this cycle.
Horribly monotonous and hardly worth its cost of shipping. I almost gave up 1/3 of the way into this book because she made the same point 50 times already. Finished it just to give it an honest review.
Save your time and money... theres no knowledge in this one

Comment: This book is misleading because you would think it gives you tips about how to buy real estate with less money, or about how to make more money with real estate. But the author does not give such tips or suggestions. She draws extensively on the game of Monopoly while saying it has nothing to do with successful real estate business. Although she mentions several real estate seminars she followed, it transpires that she has no personal experience of real estate. The only important idea she promotes is "don't use your own money". The problem is that she does not tell you how not to use your own money... Why write a whole book when you have only one sentence to say?

Summary: Not worth your time or money
Comment: This book is not what it claims to be. Please don't waste your time or money getting this book. The author uses the game of monopoly to illustrate a basic point of leverage. She drags this concept out over a book that could have really been a brochure. The writing style is elementary and repetitive. I couldn't find one redeeming quality in this book. In addition, I believe that the author is intentionally misleading consumers with the description of this book. The other reviews must be bought.

Comment: Ms. Stevenson purports to share a big secret that no one else will tell you; and uses the game of Monopoly to illustrate her point. The writing is laborious and overly drawn out, and you wish she would just get to the point. Her "secret" is the theory behind basic finance and economic theory - that you can make money with money through leverage. And that banks stack the deck through their rules & practices. In light of the latest mortgage problems, many don't seem as smart. However, Ms. Stevenson seems to have found a way to create her own wealth (and you're contributing). You'd be better off reading a textbook and bypass this book.

Summary: The book is about teaching and learning.
Comment: I was fortunate enough to be of some assistance to Kalinda while she was writing the book. During our discussions it became apparent that she was following a philosophy similar to mine when sharing information with others.
Kalinda believes in "helping people help themselves". Her teaching background makes the content of the book meaningful for the reader. She keeps everything simple and straight-forward. I admit I am not in the real estate investment business but I am a retired educator.
Take advantage of Kalinda's expertise in real estate and her teaching abilities. Like any good how-to book you will benefit from the well-planned material presented with an easy to understand approach.
