Disney's 1992 animated feature is a triumph of wit and skill. The high-tech artwork and graphics look great, the characters are strong, the familiar story is nicely augmented with an interesting villain (Jafar, voiced by Jonathan Freeman), and there's an incredible hook atop the whole thing: Robin Williams's frantically hilarious vocal performance as Aladdin's genie. Even if one isn't particularly moved by the love story between the title character (Scott Weinger) and his girlfriend Jasmine (Linda Larkin), you can easily get lost in Williams's improvisational energy and the equally entertaining performances of Freeman and Gilbert Gottfried (as Jafar's parrot). --Tom Keogh

Customer Rating: Summary: Carmen's movie Comment: My 2 year old granddaughter loves this movie. She sings along to most of the movie. She is saying all the words too. Customer Rating: Summary: One of the good ones. Comment: Aladdin is definately one of the best Disney movies. However, all of these added "special features" that drive up the cost of the DVD and dub it "platinum" are completely unnecessary. Disney has a bad habbit of adding useless garbage to their DVDs. Unfortunately, Aladdin is not available on DVD without all of the nonsense.
I would still recommend this movie to anyone young or old for a good laugh and to see Disney's usual ability to transform an old tale into a "magical" story for all to enjoy. Customer Rating: Summary: This is Robin's Brain Comment: This is as close as we'll ever come to seeing the inside of Robin Williams' brain. They called him in, and as he started to riff, they added more and more animators and essentially drew his creative process. I think he did something like 40 something characters as the genie, including William F. Buckley Jr. and Jack Nicholson. Even if you're not a fan of animation, strap in and take the ride. You won't be disappointed. Customer Rating: Summary: A little too cute for adults. Comment: Yeah, yeah I know.....It's supposed to be for kids.
This is why Disney flopped and Pixar took over the world.
Pixar's movies appeal just as much to adults as they do to the kids.
Alladin?
It's your typical disney fare.
Bright colorful animations.
Your typical hero who saves the day.
It's a cute easy to watch movie, just not very memorable.
And my biggest gripe as with all disney movies.
I CAN'T STAND THE CONSTANT SONGS!!!
Pixar succeeds on that also.
Cut it out with the musicals every five seconds.
Otherwise, a great movie for kids with very little to offer adults. Customer Rating: Summary: Beware: Great Movie But Not for Little Girls Comment: I am not disputing that this is a great movie. However in my opinion it is not appropriate for younger children as it contains a lot of "scary" moments, fighting and name calling. I mistakenly bought this for my 3 1/2 year old who really loves Disney Princesses, including Jasmine. I will put this away until she is at least 5 years old and better able to handle it. Until then Cinderella and The Little Mermaid are more appropriate for the under 5's.
