Disney's 1967 animated feature seems even more entertaining now than it did upon first release, with a hall-of-fame vocal performance by Phil Harris as Baloo, the genial bear friend of feral child Mowgli. Based on fiction by Rudyard Kipling, the film goes its own way as Disney animation will, but the strong characters and smart casting (George Sanders as the villainous tiger, Shere Khan) make it one of the studio's stronger feature-length cartoons. Songs include "The Bare Necessities" and "Trust in Me." --Tom Keogh

Summary: The CD was blank
Comment: I forgot what I paid for this product but it was too much regardless of what I paid because the CD I received was blank. I did not make any effort to return it for a refund or exchange but still I was quite disappointed as I ordered issue 1 and 2 at the same time and now I have issue 2 and don't have issue 1.

Summary: Racist
Comment: A long time ago an African American friend criticized this movie because it was racist. I'm white and couldn't understand her perspective, that was before VHS and it was impossible to view the movie when I wanted to. Years past and I had kids, we rented it one day and I was horrified at the lyrics sung by Louie, the ape. Do you really want your children listening to an ape singing (with an exagerated Southern accent), "I want to be a man... An ape like me can learn to be human...Someone like me can learn to be someone like you..." It is very racist and we didn't finish the movie. Think about it.

Comment: Excellent movie for young children and adults as well. My grandson (2 yrs) has watched it enough to sing the songs in it. Very good movie. Buy it. Watch it over and over.

Summary: A bear s life is for me.
Comment: It s the perfect movie to teach kids about jungle animals and have a great time all in one, great songs that just make you dance all around and a lot of comedy which I like. Great message about friendship and the right thing to do.
