Even after all of these years, the Catholic Worker newspaper does not change. Even though its obits might take up more space, they too are instructive and challenging in our Faith. The Catholic Worker newspaper, through close and devoted Communion with the Saints, remains our most faith-based expression of the Catholic Church in America and in the world.

I recently renewed my subscription here on the amazon having let it lapse decades ago while overseas on mission, and my first copy has come, discovering me in this distant desert. I find my old friend and challenging comforter and consoler as ever vibrant and real, a true expression of our Faith. While other periodicals go temporarily into the magazine basket for eventual disposal, this one goes into the choir stall for the spiritual permanent collection.

I derive great strength from these articles and brief biographies. I am so thrilled to find its format unchanged, and dedication to profoundly moving religious line art unwavering in quality from the days of Fritz Eisenberg. I am greatly relieved to find the thoughtful prayerfulness of the writing ever at the quality of the great American saint Dorothy Day, who articles remain reprinted here in the Catholic Worker.

Where else in this day and age can you find measureless treasure still only a penny a coy?

Buy a subscription for someone you really love. Love others as you love yourself. Share this with all your friends at any stage or degree of involvement with the Catholic Church. They will all thank you very sincerely and profoundly one day.

Kindness, compassion, mercy, peace and love. The gifts of the Holy Spirit. Corporal and spiritual works of mercy. Faith, hope and charity. Where do we find such concepts in our media anymore? Where do we find such a reality reported, but within the humble pages of the Catholic Worker newspaper.

No Catholic household can be without it and be called a Catholic household. No household should be without it. Everyone you meet should have it in their hands. Give it to them as a jewel beyond price.
