    Summary: Replacement Fan Short of Previous Model
    Comment: Our first Patton fan motor burnt out, so I ordered the Patton U2-1803-UC 18-Inch Velocity Air Circulator. It moves the air but has an annoying pitched hum and all three speeds seem about the same. Nothing seems to be built as well as the ones you first purchase. Good product but not as good as it's predecessor.

    Summary: A Powerhouse fan
    Comment: These are not exactly quiet, but if you wish your home had a "whole house" fan built-in, this is your next-best choice. I can place this on an open window's sill (I have to lash it to the sill, so it won't blow itself off), kick into high and you immediately feel a strong breeze everywhere in the house. I've never been sorry I bought this, some five years ago.

    Summary: Not very well made and very noisy
    Comment: I measured the noise on the lowest setting at 84 db. Part of the problem is that the low setting is not very different from the high setting. I gave it two stars instead of one since it does move a lot of air, but it is too noisy to use in my home.

    Note that the two photographs are of two different fans with differing stands. The fan I received is the one with the dark-colored blades. The base comes in two pieces that you screw together in the middle. The two halves of the cage are held together with plastic zip ties.

    Summary: Still Quality
    Comment: This is a great classic fan if you like to move a lot of air. This is the second new Patton I have purchased and the fifth total - the other 3 being from auction.

    Locally, Wal-mart, Menards, Lowes, etc. the only Patton I could find was this plastic "jet engine" looking 20" with CVT technology - I thought great, Patton quality in a new look. NOT! It did not put out any more air than a box fan - and the reason I don't buy box fans is I want a directed High Velocity stream of air. So, everyone let Patton know that the all metal (aluminum, whatever) Patton is all we will tolerate. If you want to go high tech, that's fine as long as it really is a High Velocity Air Circulator and just doesn't sit there an make a lot of noise for nothing.
