A soft yet lightly peppery oil from Lake Como.Moving ever closer to our goal of carrying an olive oil from every region of Italy, this is our only oil from Lombardia -- an area not typically associated with olive oil production. This terrific unfiltered extra virgin oil is made using olives that populate the area around Lake Como (yes, there are olives trees there). The olives are hand-picked, stone ground and cold pressed. These are the northernmost olives grown and pressed in Italy. This oil has an intensely grassy aroma and a bright yellow color; it is mild and full with a lingering peppery bite that creeps up at the back of the throat. Excellent drizzled over mixed greens, soups and grilled fish. Our products, which range from artisan olive oils and balsamic vinegars, to rustic pastas and sauces, are carefully selected to represent the quality and diversity of Italy's 20 regions. As the representative of the third generation of Ferraris to guide the family business, Paul Ferrari is committed to maintaining the same standards of excellence that have been our hallmark since 1919.
