Summary: Works great, but needs 20 amp circuit
Comment: Powerful dust collector, 1 micron bag is great. Unit is pretty tall, barely fits in my 7' tall basement shop. Would not start up on 15 amp circuit, kept kicking the breaker out, even when no other equipment was running. Runs great on 20 amp circuit though, together with other 1 hp or 2 hp equipment.

Summary: Good dust collector for the price
Comment: I just got mine last night. It arrived with plenty of dents in it from shipping but Amazon offered me a discount to keep it since it still worked.

It was easy to put together in spite of the manual. The directions tell you all you need is a 12m wrench and then the first step says to use a 'thin' 14m wrench ?? And they aren't kidding about the thin part. The wrench is needed to tighten the casters and there isn't enough room for a standard wrench to fit. I ended up using needle nose pliers; they were all that would fit. And the manual was written for a different model that has two filter bags. They also changed the filter bag bracket but show the old one in the manual.

So I got it all together and hooked it up to the table saw. Boy did it suck the dust out of all the nooks and crannies. Much better than hooking up my shop vac.

Quiet? I don't think so. Maybe not as loud as my 5HP shop vac, but still loud. It's just a less irritating, lower pitched sound than the shop vac so it's more tolerable.

You'll definitely need a 20A breaker for this puppy. I couldn't run it through my retractable extension cord. It needed to be plugged directly into the outlet.

But for the price (and look around for a $[...] form...Amazon doesn't list it but you can find one good until 7/8/2008), it's well worth the price of admission.

Summary: Great for a small shop
Comment: This is my first dust collector so I don't have much to compare it to. However we had some Shopfox units in the shop I used to work in and this one outperforms those. The 1 micron bag on the top is a real plus. I don't see any dust particles in the air at all, even when I shake the top bag to dislodge the material that has collected on the inside of it. I love the convenience of the plastic bags. Once I got the hang of using the friction fit ring that system has worked great. I have 20' of hose connected to this and have run my drum sander, planer and jointer with it and it has worked like a champ. My only regret is that I didn't pick this up sooner.

Summary: Great Dust Collector w/shipping damage
Comment: I don't know how much you can say about a dust collector as long as it does it's job. This unit does it's job very well. It is so much nicer than using my wet/dry vac for dust collection. You will not regret getting this unit. It is a great value.

The unit had some small damage when it arrived. One of the posts were bent on the stand, I straightened it out and I used a little bit of persuasion to get it together. It also had a small dent on the motor housing.

The unit ships in the original box and I'm sure this is the reason for the damage. I did not call amazon about this, because I did not want to go through the hassel of sending it back and all that. Since I did not give them a chance to take care of the problem I went ahead and gave it a five star rating. It would have deserved that without any damage.

Comment: A GOOD PRODUCT FOR THE MONEY. DON'T EXPECT IT TO PICK UP ALL THE DUST FROM THE AIR. I WISH I HAD THE ROOM FOR A CYCLONE BUT THIS IS A GREAT BUY FOR THE AMOUNT YOU PAY. USE A GARBAGE CAN BETWEEN THE UNIT AND THE TOOLS AND YOU WILL SAVE LOTS OF TIME AND EFFORT.
