With chiropractic pioneer Dr. Randy Weinzoff, Gaiam developed this patented BalanceBall Chair as an effective tool for strengthening core muscles and improving spinal alignment. Alleviates the aching back/legs/arms syndrome that comes from working at a desk for hours. Designed for people between 5-feet and 5-feet 11-inches tall, this unique "chair" employs the same balance ball used in your workout routine, but with it you also get an adjustable support bar, easy-glide casters, an air pump, and a desktop guide to help keep you moving. Designed by leading health and fitness experts, Gaiam back-care solutions build a healthier back, relieve pain, and improve your overall well being. The height of the back of the chair is 2.5 feet tall, and the base measures 20 inches wide from one side of the wheels to the other. The chair comes with 2 locking casters and 2 regular ones. The locking casters go on the back of the chair. Some assembly is required. The chair measures 21 x 31 x 22 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 13 pounds. It has a 300-pound weight capacity. Made in Taiwan.
Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: Gaiam Ball Chair Comment: The chair seems fine; however, the thing they provide to inflate the ball is terrible. It stopped working almost immediately. Now I have to find a way to inflate the ball before I can use the chair. Not too happy about this! Customer Rating: Summary: Good Chair for Space Challenged Environment Comment: This compact comfortable chair is great for small spaces, such as condos. It is an unusually comfortable and set up was a breeze. Customer Rating: Summary: A Novelty Seat Comment: It's comfortable, good height for a desk. Would be better with a higher backrest. Wheels for moving around are just OK quality. It's good for a second chair to use when you need a change. Customer Rating: Summary: Not good if you have lower back problems Comment: I purchased this chair hoping to strengthen my abs and back to alleviate recurring low back pain. Unfortunately, it has actually made the problem worse. It seemed like a logical thing to do at the time: purchase a chair that's going to give "correct posture" , etc., but it turns out the what's correct posture for one person can be incorrect for someone else. Unfortunately, the Gaiam Balance Ball Chair does not allow for the level of adjustablility needed for me to sit comfortably in an office situation. Customer Rating: Summary: The Best Darned Office Chair!! Comment: I have now been using the Gaiam Balance Ball Chair at work for one month. My back & neck pain at the end of the day is gone. Having Scoliosis, Fibromyalgia and bad posture, that says a lot. No more slouching or rigidly trying to sit up straight. It's amazing how you just naturally and comfortably sit straight no matter how much multi-tasking you are doing. Three other people in my office are going to be ordering one as well. This is by far the best office chair I have ever had!!
