Summary: Quality product, great mounting options, pause feature great.
Comment: I really like my skyfi2. The pause feature is great. This unit is easy to use. It does not give you the option of changing the screen color, which makes a difference when you do allot of night driving. The car kit comes with many mounting options to fit almost any application (temporary or permanent). I do not really like the scroll wheel. In DIRECT TUNE mode you must turn the wheel one click to make it WAKE UP. The second click will cause it to change the channel. This is really annoying when you want to go through the channels one at a time to discover new channels that you might like. However the remote control has UP/DOWN buttons that allow channel by channel navigation to be simple just like a tv remote.

Summary: poor reception in mountainous areas
Comment: Purchased this satellite receiver to use at a vacation home in the mountains of southern california. I already own a 4+ year old delphi roady that had no issues in this regard, but decided to get a second receiver so I would not have to transport the roady back and forth from my home to the mountains and it always received a great signal from the satellite. The new receiver was incapable of even being able to locate or load the signal in order to activate an additonal account with xm. I activated the device in town without difficulty but as soon as I moved it back to the mountains, no signal could be found. NOT RECOMMENDED for anyone who needs good satellite reception in mountains. BE WARNED that xm customer service is not helpfull or forthcoming with issues related to placement of this receiver.

Summary: The new SkyFi2
Comment: This was a replacement for the SkyFi2 I purchased about 3 years ago. (The old one was stolen)The old one would transmit thru the Fm modulator to my auto stereo perfectly. This new one must not have the same type of modulator, as it won't transmit to my auto stereo. It does, but fades in and out and usually with a LOT of static, just like there was no antenna hooked up. It will work fine with the cassette adapter and the gizmo that you have to run out and put on the outside antenna. I don't like either of those methods. I like XM radio, but not the changes made to this SkyFi2 receiver!
