As the fourth season of NBC's award-winning comedy begins, Will (Eric McCormack) has just returned from France--alone--while Grace (Debra Messing) is still seeing Nathan (Woody Harrelson). Meanwhile, Jack (Sean Hayes) is adjusting to fatherhood of newfound preteen son Elliot (Sky High's Michael Angarano), while Karen (Megan Mullally) remains, well, Karen. Alas, in "Crouching Father, Hidden Husband," the authorities finally catch up with her (never seen) tax-evading hubbie Stan and toss him in the clink. Grace's relationship with Nathan, on the other hand, continues to blossom until talk turns to marriage in "The Rules of Engagement." Guest stars include Parker Posey as Jack's stylish supervisor ("Loose Lips Sinks Relationships," "Jingle Balls"), Matt Damon as a closeted choral singer ("A Chorus Lie"), Glenn Close as an eccentric photographer ("Hocus Focus"), and her former co-star Michael Douglas ("Fagel Attraction") as a "detective" with the hots for Will. There are also recurring guests, like Debbie Reynolds as Grace's drama queen mother ("Moveable Feast," a double-length episode), director Sydney Pollack as Will's wayward father ("Cheatin' Trouble Blues"), and Jack’s favorite diva, Cher, as herself ("A.I.: Artificial Insemination," the season finale). By the end of season four, Will and Grace will still be single, Karen’s husband will still be incarcerated (but at least she'll have maid Rosario to keep her company), and Jack will still be, as he used to say, "Just Jack!" Summary: Great Show
Comment: I bought this as a gift for my real life "Will" and it's just as great as the rest of the seasons of this show; at least as far as I've seen. The storylines are cute, but in this season they go a bit guest-star crazy which I believe becomes the trend until the show's end--though that really is ok with me, it's cool to see a famous face every now and again... or constantly; take your pick.
Jack and Karen are hysterical and their chemistry only improves during this season I think; they start to become annoying cerca Season 5, but are still more or less the highlight of the show, or at least a nice break from Will and Grace's excessive/borderline annoying neuroticism.
I cannot stand the episodes where the writers attempt to highlight the oddness of Will & Grace's relationship with these contrived semi-romantic/all too sentimental moments, and this season is thankfully less heavy on them than the others, which is nice.
I love love love this show, especially because of how reflective it is of the nature of the straight woman/gay man close friendship dynamic-- a situation that is rather idiosyncratic with my life :)

Comment: I'm enjoying the episodes, but I'm having this really weird experience. There are supposed to be 6 episodes on each disc, but for some reason, the menu on my discs show only three on each! Does anyone have any idea of what's going on here??

Summary: WOW!!! ....and that's NOT a GOOD THING!!!
Comment: If you didn't feel the magic disappear at the start of season 4 you'll really FEEL IT NOW by the time you finish this season! Will & Grace was always a great show from the beginning and pure magic from seasons 1 - 3. But when season 4 started with Woody Harrelson as Grace's love interest the chemistry and magic between all the lead characters seem to disappear over night. Will & Grace never really had the FUNNY CRAZY lines but they worked well with what they were given. Instead all the good lines were given to Jack & Karen. Pretty much in my opinion for the shows 8 year run it's always secretly been called the Jack & Karen show. Anyways at this point since Will & Grace weren't even given any decent lines, the below average lines that were given they had to turn humorous which just came off really desperate and made the 2 characters even more annoying then they originally were. The show from this point just doesn't have any element to keep you tuning in each week and starts to decline quite gradually. Every episode of this season is almost a pain to watch. You try and look forward to the next laugh and all you get are bad jokes with bad a delivery from the actors and a lot of empty spaces in-between when waiting for the next joke. Every episode you could already tell this show was on its last legs. It wasn't about making people laugh anymore. It was more about learning a life lesson at the end of each episode. When a show starts to become learning about Life Lessons that's when it becomes like the Family Matters sitcom and SLOW torture. I was in shock that this show went on for 8 years. When the show 1st started and after an amazing season 3 I always thought this show would last longer then the over rated Friends sitcom. I also asked myself how are they gonna top the AMAZING 3rd season. But after season 4 it was time to hang up the hat and call it a day. As i mentioned it was always about Jack & Karen and the writers or producers really OVER USED the 2 characters to do crazy things and in all honesty i think the actors PASSION for doing the show started to dwindle. There comes a point in everyone's job if you're in the same position for years where you feel like you know what you're doing and that you've MASTERED the art of IT and nothing is a challenge anymore. That situation applies here and you can really feel that with the cast of Will & Grace. Despite that my review maybe coming off negative i do like all of the 4 main actors and this is Will & Grace so i rated it with a 4 star even though i wanted it to be 3 1/2. But because its Will & Grace i still give it a chance. Bare this in mind, the CAST became so GREAT at their CRAFT that they became INVALUABLE.

Comment: Of course, I had seen the WILL & GRACE series on TV but when I found them so incredibly priced on Amazon, I decided to buy seasons 1 thru 5. However, I found that buying each season individually was even lower than purchasing the "bundled" set of the same items, 1-5.
