Customer Rating: Summary: Outgassing Comment: This product emits a strong outgassing smell when in use. Still strong after a few weeks of use.
I wonder about the toxicity of this smell. May give me a headache. Other reviewers have found the same. Customer Rating: Summary: No Complaints Comment: I purchased this for my Mother-in-law, I have not seen it working but she as not complained about it so I think its fine.
No Complaints. Customer Rating: Summary: DeLonghi oil-filled heater review (TRD0715T) Comment: I have had the heater now for the last month. Our bedroom is at the end of the home heating circuit (water filled radiators) and we decided to boost the heat in the bedroom. I love the DeLonghi TRD0715T. It had worked according to expectations thus far with no issues - no weird odors, or sounds. It manages to keep our rather large bedroom (36 ft X 20 ft) nice and toasty. I have it set to come on an hour before we retire for the night and have it turn off an hour before we wake up. The 700 watt setting has worked just fine, although we are just starting into cooler weather. I expect to jump to one of the higher power settings in the coming winter months. The heater's top surface gets warmest but even that is not scalding hot. I can touch it without burning my hand, but can keep it there for only a few seconds.
The main downside of the heater is the extra floor space it takes up. I would have loved to have a wall-mounted heater with the nice properties of the oil-filled radiator. Oh well... (I realize there are wall mounted heaters but the reviews talked about crackling noises etc and I did not want to risk issues). Customer Rating: Summary: great, but needs on/off switch Comment: This is a great product. I've owned other DeLonghi heaters and all have been very good. I like this one except that I feel the need to repost the one negative, which was one of the positives to buy it: the timer. It's great to have a programmable (not digital, analog) clock and timer. However, if you don't want to use the timer you have to turn it on and off by unplugging and replugging it in. (Per the manual.) If you really want to use the programmable feature, get it. If you only think you might want that occasionally, I'd recommend picking one with a normal on/off. Customer Rating: Summary: Heat Alternative Comment: I recently bought two of these because of the price of home heating oil in the Northeast. Although I haven't had occasion to use them for heating, YET, I did run them to burn off the protectant so there would be no smell when I did finally use them inside. The functions and operation are clear and straight forward. The units occupy a small space and the timer functions well, making it easy to turn the unit on and off automatically. The wheels and fairly light weight (27 lbs) make them easy to move room to room. The only real complaint I have is the power cord. It is only six feet long and is connected to the front bottom of the unit. This makes it difficult to position the heater because of the way walls and furniture are arranged in my home. But facing possibly $5000 in oil bills this winter, I'm looking forward to spending just a few hundred in electricity instead to keep my household at least tepid instead of freezing.
