Customer Rating: Summary: Has everything one would need Comment: What can I say but it works, does everything it says it should do. I really like it a lot. Customer Rating: Summary: Does it's job Comment: I've put a few miles on this and it has been accurate and wasn't really too hard to assemble. Yes, you do have to keep the book in case you change your wheels or your tires and have to reprogram the sizes to get accurate readings, but this really isn't hard nor something surprising. I really like being able to see the average speeds along with how long it took me to go x miles. A good solid product. I even dropped it once with no damage. Customer Rating: Summary: Using it for 1 year on my BMW K75s K75 K75RT motorcycle for 1 year Comment: Update: 04-24-08 no problems except that it was not measuring speed correctly read 40mph at 70mph etc. Changed the battery and it is fine again.
Complaint: it is HARD to set up. I have to get the manual out EVERY time. The manual contains errors and I had to update it with a pencil.
Works fine even thought I park outside in direct sunlight.
I have been using this on my motorcycle after the trip meter stopped working. This required some modification and gluing the rare earth magnet to the front fork with epoxy glue.
The cycle computer has worked great and can read speads over 100mph, I have been told the max is 160mph. I've been using it for a year and it replaced the older BC800? I have put around 3,000 miles on it. No problems ever same battery so far.
Complaints:
don't throw your manual away. It is tricky to get in and out of the setup modes.
I wish it had a light for night time with a 5 second delay so I could push it and read it then it would go off again. It is the most reliable part of my motorcycle.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great product for the recreational biker Comment: This is a great addition to anyone that want to keep track of how far and how long they bike. It is easy to install, and since I have installed it has required no adjustments. This unit keeps track of what you want to know. It is also very easy to check while riding. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent basic wired cyclocomputer Comment: The BC906 replaced three cheapy Chinese-made cyclocomputers. Two lasted a year and the most recent I gave up on after 3 weeks. I then decided to buy a quality wired cyclocomputer - and the BC906 fitted the bill. I chose wired because I found wireless was affected by my flashing LED headlamp - the flashes were interpreted as speed when the two were adjacent.
I'm very pleased with the BC906 - it's accurate, easy to fit (no tools required), and highly legible. It's easy to set-up although the pictogram-based instruction book is not particularly easy to follow and could be better.
It doesn't have a backlight or ambient temperature - nice-to-have but not essential features. I chose it over a similarly featured and priced Cateye because the BC906 had a larger, clearer display.
