In Killzone: Liberation, two months after the events of Killzone, most of southern Vekta is still under Helghast control. The rules of war have been cast aside with the Helghast General, Metrac, employing brutal measures in order to seize the initiative and strengthen his position further. Returning as Templar, players will be sent on a mission to undertake a covert operation to save hostages captured by Metrac, while ISA troops continue the fight for liberty. Vehicles - Killzone - Liberation also allows players to drive vehicles including tanks and hovercrafts to help defeat the powerful and intelligent enemy Challenge Games - Players can compete in challenge games to sharpen their skills and earn new abilities. Multiplayer Functionality - The multiplayer functionality in Killzone - Liberation takes full advantage of the wireless capabilities of the PSP hardware, with two distinct styles of gameplay - 1) Two player cooperative gameplay in the single player mission 2) One to six player games over six multiplayer maps Gameshare Mode - Killzone - Liberation will feature gameshare mode where players can share demo levels of the game with other PSP system owners

Customer Rating: Summary: Underrated Game Comment: Summary: Really, this game is worth it. Is it true that this game can be very difficult at times? Yes. But timely checkpoints at just the right places solves that problem very easily. And if you fail, you can always change a couple settings. A great storyline, it addition to plenty of unlockables makes this game a great buy, and a steal at under $20. The online mode is fun and intense, although recently there have been a rash of hackers. It can also be quite buggy at times, randomly disconnecting you and such, and SOE has done nothing to fix it, claiming they are too busy developing Killzone 2. However, if nobody is spoiling the game for everybody else, gameplay can be fun and intense and will keep you on your toes with a variety of different modes. All in all, I think this game is worth every penny.
Gameplay- Five Stars
There are two main gripes with this game: a bad camera and the difficulty level. Let me say that about the bad camera, it's true. Although it isn't as bad as some people say, you'll find yourself dying because you couldn't see that tank rolling in from your side. But for the most part, the camera is solid. This game might have you confused for a while because the camera angle is a new idea. No game that I have played before uses a bird's eye third person view of the battlefield. About the difficulty level, it's hard to say that it's "difficult", just because you can't get past a certain part. There is always a certain weapon that you can use against a boss, and every boss has weak points, and every battle can be one. You just need to try. The game also has a Vektan Dollars system. You pick up cases of money on the battlefield and use that money to purchase better weapons. The game also utilizes an AI buddy system, which is actually rather well executed. You can tell your buddy to follow you, or order him to move to specific strategic points on the battlefield.
Story- Three Stars
Really, there isn't much of a story. You play as Jan Templar, a elite super soldier who kills Helghast soldiers. Over. And over. And over again. But hey, I had fun while doing it. And I'm pretty sure you would too.
Online Play- Three Stars
Online play is fun and competitive, with a variety of different modes that you can play. There's the traditional deathmath, which is a free-for-all, a team deathmatch, a capture the flag mode, and an assault mode. The assault mode is where the Helghast Team attempts to use C4 on specific hard points in the enemy building in order to destroy it. Recently, there there have been a rash of hackers who ruin the game for everyone. When this happens, however, you can just try to find a new server. Another problem with online play is that the menu has lots of bugs. On mine, for example, I can't go up in rank. But my friends' can. But his doesn't record his kills, only his death. So he has three gold stars, but zero kills and around two hundred deaths. Sony Online Entertainment has done nothing to fix this, claiming they are too busy developing new (buggy) games.
Final Verdict-Five Stars
Lots of unlockables. A passable story. Competitive online play. Fun campaign mode. You could ask more for twenty dollars, but really, this is one of the most solid games I've played for a long time on the PSP.
Customer Rating: Summary: good handheld game Comment: occupied time overseas. online bonus content is cool since most games have the option but don't live up to what they say. wipeout pulse has good on-line as well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Superb! Comment: I've wanted this game for a while, but waited until it became a Greatest Hits title to pick it up for $20. The graphics are nice, the story is cool (a little Bond feel to it), the learning curve is small, the perspective (almost bird's eye) fits the PSP well, and there is downloadable content available that adds an extra chapter as well as infrastructure mode for playing online.
If you like action, pick it up!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Game, but hard! Comment: I love the style and the look of the game. The cinematic "cut-scenes" are spectacular and rival those of PS2. The game play is great! The top-down view is reminiscent of some of the "Contra" games of the PS1 era. I do find it hard to play straight through the game because of the advanced difficulty level. You will die quite a bit. This has never caused me frustration, however, it only excites me to play more. The game is perfect for smaller chunks of time i.e. car/airplane rides.
The Killzone series is a great one! I highly recommend both games to anyone who hasn't tried them!
