Finally, a low carb bread mix from the trusted folks at Dixie Diner! All natural, no preservatives...Enjoy the wonderful flavor of fragrant homemade yeast bread. And at just 3 net carbs you can enjoy bread, toast or sandwiches anytime. Mix is so easy to make, just place eggs, cottage cheese, butter and water in bowl, stir, add dry mix and yeast and place in oven to rise for 45 minutes. Bake for 45 minutes and enjoy! Makes wonderful toast also. Freeze or refrigerate leftovers. No preservatives - all natural. Bread machine directions also included on label. You will need: 3 large eggs, 3/4 cup water, 1 cup small curd cottage cheese, 1 Tablespoon butter. Coat a 1-1/2 quart round casserole, or a standard size 9" x 5" loaf pan with non stick cooking spray. In large round microwave-safe bowl, place eggs, cottage cheese, water and butter. Stir with spoon or whisk until well mixed. Heat on high for ONLY ONE minute or until cottage cheese is warm (not hot) and butter is beginning to soften. Stir in dry bread mix slowly until well blended. Sprinkle yeast packet in and stir to mix well. Spoon into casserole or loaf pan. Place bread pan in oven (center rack). Turn oven on to 200° for just one minute to warm. TURN OVEN OFF and let bread rise for 45 minutes. Turn oven on to 350 ° and bake bread for 45 minutes (or until golden brown). Let bread cool for 15 minutes. Remove from pan, slice and enjoy. Makes 16 - 1/2" slices, 3 net carbs per slice. Refrigerate or freeze leftovers. Great toasted too! Comment: I am a low carb dieter and was worried this bread was "to good to be true" when I ordered it. The bread came out very bitter and I could not finish the loaf. I must admit I am not much of a cook or have much experience with baking so there is a chance the bad bread was a screw up on my part.
