Customer Rating: Summary: quality Comment: If you're sick of shock-value writing, how-to-get-a-date articles, or the crass sexuality of GQ, Details, and Esquire, then Men's Vogue is for you. Contrary to popular belief, Men's Vogue is not a fashion magazine. It has terrific articles of editorial value on culture, art, politics, and history. I find it to be ahead of it's game. Daniel Day Lewis was on the cover before his Oscar nod, and Obama was the cover feature before he decided to run for President. You won't find an actress or a supermodel in a bikini on the cover, and the fashions are worn by real men featured in the articles, not models. It's also the only magazine to have 4 African Americans on its cover in its first 12 issues. The art direction is visually sumptuous, so you won't get bored staring at a shirt on a hanger or see a 16 yr old male model wearing it. I also like that unlike Details, MVogue doesn't make the assumption that I'm either "Gay or Asian" or "Gay or a country singer."
I find Men's Vogue to be classy and substantial. It's more than what meets the eye, and just because it says "Vogue" doesn't mean it's only about fashion. Customer Rating: Summary: COMPARED TO DETAILS, THIS IS HORRIBLE!! Comment: ok so if you have read my other reviews, you can tell i am a HUGE fan of the magazine Details. I believe Vogue is not as good with interesting stories and subjects. but as i always do, i recommend you to go to a store and skim through one first IF this is your first time buying this magazine. Customer Rating: Summary: Much better then GQ Comment: I've been much happier over the last year reading Men's Vogue compared to the previous years of subscribing to GQ. They tend to cover a lot of the same things but with better articles. Customer Rating: Summary: Deeply Dissapointed Comment: When I first heard there was an American version of L'Uomo Vouge I was really excited. I thought "finally an American men's fashion magazine that'll be edgy, risky, creative & original!" I couldn't have been more wrong. This magazine is virtually indistinguishable from lackluster Men's magazines GQ, Esquire & Details. European men's fashion magazines are works of art with cutting edge photography, bold reporting & beautiful advertising. You won't find any of this in Men's Vouge. The editors of this magazine have greatly insulted the intelligence of American readers. If I could I'd give this magazine a negative 5.
