Hellgate: London combines the depth of role-playing games with the action of first-person action titles. It is a world devastated by a demon invasion, where players must create a hero and battle through innumerable hordes of demons while completing quests and advancing through experience levels. Explore a desolate city scorched by hellfire where the survivors meld science and sorcery to gain a foothold against the minions of darkness and save the bloodline of humanity. A robust, flexible skill and spell system, highly customizable items, and a massive variety of randomly generated equipment allow players to create heroes that are truly unique. London, 2038. According to legend, when the ravens depart the Tower of London, it will crumble to rubble and disaster will befall England. As man became more dependent on science, believing only in what he could define or create, ancient knowledge and rituals were lost to the antiquity of time. Prophecies that had stood as warning for untold generations were seen as archaic folly or ignorant superstition. So, when the harbingers of evil began to manifest, few saw and fewer believed. When the demons finally came, there was little that stood in their way. Compelling cooperative multiplayer experience - by creating unique and individualized game play instances within a vast online community, gamers get all the best parts of traditional massive multiplayer games Hellgate - London Game on 2 DVDs / Bonus Disc containing - Making of Hellgate - London; Official Game Soundtrack

Customer Rating: Summary: Fun and worth the money but not much more. Comment: For the price It's at now around 15$ it is well worth it not only that but the only mmo sort of play it has to is also free wich is basicly the exact same thing as the single player but just online allowing you to form parties with other players. The game has a strong story fun gameplay and interesting combat elements all which add up to make a pretty good game.
Customer Rating: Summary: Worthy succesor to D1 and D2. Comment: I admit I waited until the price went down for this game, because the reviews for the most part were brutal.
So I got it a few days ago,and alternate playing it on my XP OS and my new Vista Premium OS.The XP computer is 5 years old,and runs the game perfectly. As does the Vista. No bugs. No gliches.
Now,for the review: I cannot understand all of the harsh reviews this game is getting from some people. I was as addicted to D1 and D2 as a human being could possibly be,so I have experience with the franchise. And I am waiting breathlessly for D3 to come out.But meanwhile, this game has proven (to me) that it is indeed a worthy successor to D1 & D2.
The graphics are killer. The character/class options are great. The weaponry and loot is great. The monsters and their bosses are every bit as good as the first two D's.There are gazillions of quests, and plenty of loot to be found all over the city.I found myself playing it until 4 in the morning the day I got it.I used to do that with D1&2 as well. The save method is a VAST improvement over D2's.The voice actors are okay for the most part.
The only things I consider not as good as the prior games:The music is nowhere near as cool and weird and scary as the two previous games. And the only other thing would be that there is only limited storage space in the inventory.Because when you are out killing things, some of them, not necessarily bosses, drop a huge amount of loot and you have to transport yourself back to your last visited city to sell the stuff, then go back and retrieve the rest.
So until D3 comes out,I will be playing this game very happily.
Customer Rating: Summary: Truly A Journey Into Hell Comment: I'm not sure what happened to all the reviews for this game, but let me repost what I had before.
DO NOT BUY IT.
I know the cheap price and epic marketing blurbs (a Hell rift opens up in a future London? Awesome!) make it seem like a great purchase, but do not be tempted. Even at this point, almost a year after the premiere, this game is pure failure.
The mechanics are bad. The graphics are clunky. The online service (ha ha) is spotty and gimped.
Best of all, the developer is out of business. That's right, this game was so awesome that it spurred Flagship Studios right out of operation.
Customer Rating: Summary: fun game Comment: I've been playing this game on and off since it was released. I like it quite a bit. It's pretty easy to play so if you don't have a ton of time to invest in a game like WOW this is a great game to consider. You can play for an hour or so and still feel like you've made some progress. The classes are pretty interesting as are the things you fight. I honestly don't know why people give this game such a poor review. I found it very entertaining.
Customer Rating: Summary: Only 2 reviews? Comment: Deleting all of the negative reviews will not save this game. The setting is boring, the game play is ok. I wonder if they managed to fix all of the bugs. But i don't care to find out as i stopped playing it after lvl 20 as every single map looks the same and the game kept randomly crashing.
