Summary: Great Racquet...for a while
Comment: I received this racquet as a Christmas present. I love it. It feels great. I like the idea of changing the balance with the power plugs. I have tons of power. I didn't think the control was all that bad.

On my sixth match, I broke the strings. In my 13 years of playing racquetball I have NEVER broken a set of strings before. This seems a little early to be running into a string problem. After closer examination, it was apparent that the string broke right next to one of the black power plugs (I run with only the two black power plugs in the outside holes). I thought ok. Then I looked at the string that wasn't broke next to the other plug. The string was half worn through.

I quickly returned to the retailer where I bought the racquet. They have been seeing some of these racquets coming back in with strings breaking very early. They talked with Ektelon to discuss some possible solutions. Apparently, they even tried running the string through tubing near the plugs and they still cut right through the tubing and the string in a short period of time. Will Ektelon eventually redesign the plug shape and make replacements available in the future? Not sure.

The retailer is taking good care of me. But the solution will be a restrung racquet, stronger strings, larger guage, and NO PLUGS. In order to compansate for the difference in weight balance I desire we are going with lead tape under the head tape.
