Nearly a decade after the release of their groundbreaking debut, The Sickness, Disturbed have become one of the most respected bands in the hard-rock universe thanks not only to pummeling riffs and jackhammer beats but passionate insights into our troubled times. Three platinum-plus albumsBelieve and Ten Thousand Fists charted #1have led to Indestructible, the group's darkest, angriest outing yet.

Customer Rating: Summary: Solid Rock Album Comment: This CD Rocks from start to finish. I personally love the music along with the lyrics. You can tell the band has matured threw the years and mastered their music skills. I now have all their albums and look forward to many more albums by Disturbed. A side note my favorite tracks are 1, 2, 6, and 11.
Customer Rating: Summary: Starts out great...then quickly fades away Comment: The first two songs are pretty good. Nothing spectacular. Just pretty good songs. Then starting at track three through the end, all the songs sound exactly the same. It might not be fair for me to rate this considering I'm actually a fan of Metal and not lame pop-rock.
Customer Rating: Summary: #1 Rock Band In The World ? YES Comment: First, let me say that I've been a Disturbed fan since The Sickness and have thought of Disturbed as the best rock band in the new millenium. Comparisons to previous work are often unfair but inevitable. Ten Thousand Fists, a nearly perfect offering, is extremely hard to follow up. These guys did a hell of a job though. I'm one of the minority of Distubed fans to think that Believe ( their sophmore output ) was their best CD ( followed closely by Ten Thousand Fists ) but all of their CD's are classic to me and they have grown with each one. On the surface, Indestructible, may not be as good as Ten Thousand Fists but the musicianship and technical side are the best to date for this extremely talented band. Dan Donegan still believes in lead guitar solos
( whatever happened to those ?)and kills on several songs. Mike Wengren has become my favorite drummer ( has anyone ever come up with so many memorable and classic beats? ) You often know what song it is as soon as he puts the sticks to the canvass. John Moyer returns on Bass ( also played bass on Ten Thousand Fists but not on the first two offerings). Draiman is of course one of the most destinguished and recognizable voices in rock. Soft at times and hard as razorbaldes at others. The abilities and musicianship are better than ever while creatively they may have dropped just a notch. To only drop a notch after what they've accomplished so far is still incredible.
Now breaking down Indestructible. The first song by the same name is a bit weak for my taste as an opening. All three of their previous offerings had better openings but the CD improves very quickly from there. Inside The Fire is an instant classic and is not only a perfect arranged song from beginning to end but shows the personality of Disturbed and David Draiman dead on. Deceiver might be the best song on the CD. It has Ten Thousand Fists written all over it but is a great song. It stands out on this CD. The Night is technically very good and hops around a little but still comfotable enough to hold onto. Perfect Insanity has Megadeth written all over it. I can think of at least 5 Megadeth songs that it sounds like ( even David Draiman's voice mimicks Mustaine at a couple of points) but Disturbed puts their own "sickness" flavor in it and it's fun to listen to. The ending of Perfect Insanity makes it really hard and memorable. Haunted takes me back to The Sickness ( which is a good thing ) as I believe this is where the D boys wanted to go with alot of this CD. Enough is the next song and it's simply one of the best on this CD. Draiman's lyrics and the note carrying are hearfelt and sincere and you can feel it. Next, you have The Curse, which musically took alot of talent to put together and one that you might like to have on the old IPOD after you get used to it. The next two are Torn and Criminal. The pace moves up a bit but these two are just o.k for me. Divide is the least desirable of the 12 songs for me and reminds me of Enemy from their previous CD. Facade is good for a last song. The whole CD is listenable but there are at least 4 or 5 that really stand out. How often can you say that these days ?
It was a bit of a wait for this CD ( over 2 1/2 years )but worth it. From beginning to end this will probably be the best that 2008 has to offer. 2000, 2002 and 2005 belonged to Disturbed as well. Disturbed is at the top of what they do. 4 CD's in this decade ( this will most likely be the last one until at least 2011 ). They seem to be a close knit bunch and we can only hope they truly are Indestructible and come back with yet another classic rock CD. Until then go see them live. I have and will every chance I get.
Customer Rating: Summary: Disturbed's new album is, well, another Disturbed album... Comment: Let's face it, folks. Disturbed have perfected their craft already. The monkey noises, the wailing choruses, the catchy riffs and even the sprinklings of solos. We get it already. You are Disturbed. And you'd have to be disturbed to think this marks any sort of change for the band, or to think that this even qualifies as their best effort. The band who delivered the funhouse madness that is "The Sickness" and the dark, brooding "Believe" is still here, only their sound resembles that of a McDonald's hamburger. Processed and ready for instant consumption. If you like hamburgers, you'll like this hamburger just fine because it tastes like a hamburger and goes down easy. Likewise, if you enjoyed the other three Disturbed albums (all much, much better efforts) you'll find the meat in this bun rather easy to swallow. Unfortunately, like the afformentioned hamburger, there is little to no substance in it and you, the consumer, are left full, but with a lingering stomach-ache. Disturbed are better than that. They have talent. They know how to write songs. Unfortunately "Indestructible" doesn't show that side of the band. What it shows is a band going through the motions, delivering another album because their label tells them it's time to get back on tour. I honestly can't pad out this review by even going through specific songs because nothing stands out. Quite frankly, it's a Disturbed album. Not a new Disturbed album, just another Disturbed album.
Customer Rating: Summary: Hard, melodic... Just plain awesome actually Comment: First of all, I'm really getting tired of this fuss about whether they are metal or not. I don't care. I think they are, but it doesn't really matter! Let's talk about the MUSIC:
Disturbed is EASILY at their peak right now, and I highly doubt they will ever top this masterpiece. This IS their best album to date without question. Top to bottom there are no weak links, although on first listen you may disagree. This is an album that will hit you like a truck, but not everything will immediately grab hold of you. It took me about 3-5 listens or so to really get into all the songs. "The Night" is easily their most accomplished and well made song, with odd yet powerful riffs that are far from their norm. "Inside the Fire", "Criminal", and "Facade" are other standout tracks, but they seriously are all great songs-most of which are better than almost all their previous works. The vocals in this album are phenomenal, and play a huge part in the greatness of "Indestructible".
For those who love screaming and non-melodic music, you won't enjoy this. Yes, there are a few signature "Disturbed" yelps, but no screaming. There are catchy melodies, hard melodies, great vocals, great balance of music, and some very adequate drumming to keep most people's ears happy. If you don't believe me, look at this ratings this thing is getting: 4.5 stars outta 5 after 100 reviews. Seems like a winner to me.
