This simple and classic bell design, made of solid brass and wood, is perfect for any use you might think to put it. The sharp pinstripes echoing the softly squared top edge of the bell, the beautifully turned solid wooden handle contrasting gently with the sharpness while complementing the roundness of the body of the bell, and the brass finial as a perfect final touch, make this bell wonderful simply as a display item. At 7.5 inches tall, its moderately small size makes it easy to place just about anywhere, while its still large enough to have a presence of its own. The pure tones of a solid brass bell make this an excellent item with which to call up spiritual energies. This bell also has a mighty voice, making it a wonderful reminder of yesteryear: the days of the single room schoolhouse with the teacher vigorously ringing a handbell out the door, calling the student back from their mid-day breaks; or the sick child ringing a bell to ask its mother or nurse for a glass of water. The brass is not lacquered and will gain a natural patina with time. If this natural antiquing isnt wanted, it can be removed with a simple polish.
