Weezer - one of the biggest and most influential bands of the last decade will for the third time in its six-album history release a self-titled album. The new album will hit streets on June 24 through DGC/Interscope Records. To distinguish it from the other eponymous albums it's being referred by people as "The Red Album." Comprised of sessions produced by Rick Rubin, Jacknife Lee and the band itself, the album is adventurous and undeniable Weezer pop-rock. The first single, the quirky and catchy "Pork and Beans," was recorded under the watch of the Irishman Lee and will soon be a Weezer classic.

Summary: Doesn't match earlier works, but could be a grower
Comment: To elaborate on the title, this was the first Weezer album I'd ever heard. I liked it, though parts of it sounded dated (I was going for that, anyway). But after hearing Blue and Pinkerton, I'm not sure how I feel anymore. On one hand, its decently catchy pop, but on the other, it doesn't come anywhere near the previously mentioned albums. The stand-out tracks would have to be "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived", "Pork and Beans", and "The Angel and the One". The rest is fairly forgettable, but its not BAD, like a lot of people say. Could be a grower in the months and years to come.

Comment: lyrics are like a 12 year old little boy wrote them, im sorry rivers what school did you attend harvard? harvard elementry? k... the worst music ever you think 10 songs would be picked and they would be amazing, everyone just give up with weezer they will never put out another pinkerton or blue album again its over they had there 2 great albums then ran out of good ideas, i'd buy a britney spears album before this garbage im very dissapointed in this cd thank god i downloaded it

Summary: Buy the Deluxe Version Instead!
Comment: No matter what you do, DON'T buy this CD. Buy the Deluxe version, instead, or you'll kick yourself.
The best song on the CD, hands down, is "Miss Sweeney." It is Rivers at his best, and the liner notes even mention that "he didn't want to make another song of unrequited love."
Be glad they talked him into it, because this is vintage - yet 100% fresh.
And 100% NOT ON THE CD THAT YOU ARE VIEWING! Get the Deluxe version.
King is almost as good as Miss Sweeney - and also only on the deluxe version. Pig? As good as Pork and Beans... but not on the regular CD.
Understand? You really don't want this CD - you want the Deluxe one. Spring for the extra 2 bucks.

Comment: Weezer red album is my first Weezer album. I wasnt sure what to expect, but has a great array of songs such as the hit single "Pork and Beans". Just keeping it short saying to buy this album you WON'T be disappointed.

Comment: Do we really need another album of college-oriented indie rock? This is as bad as it gets. This is the current equivalent of the commercial rock that dogged the 70's... I really disapprove of this stuff... Horrible music actually...
