Comment: I tried 2 different sizes of this shoe and thought they just didn't look right on me (a woman). too big and clunky. i think this shoe is better suited for a man. they are of sturdy quality and i think well worth the price.

Summary: TERRIBLE
Comment: This is a terrible shoe; thick heavy straps; difficult to adjust to tighten; feel like boxcars even though they offered no 1/2 sizes so I ordered a half size smaller than I usually wear. I returned the shoes!!

Comment: These shoes are well constructed, but there is one thing that I hadn't quite realized. It takes a major effort with stiff buckles to put them on and take them off.
If you like to kick sandals on and off, these are not the sandals for you.

I have got them adjusted very loose now, and I can sort of slip them on and off, but they are loose walking in. Makes you appreciate velcro....

Comment: At $49.95 they are great value for money. They are sturdy and good looking.
The sole is not the softest. Don't expect much of a cushion, but they will not break before at least 10 years!

Summary: Hmm.... Well....
Comment: These sandals look nice in a clunky sort of way. (I guess that comes with being Unisex.) At first, they seemed very stiff and felt like boxes on my feet. I was going to return them, but re-read the customer reviews and took to heart the one that said to give them a few days. The leather does soften with wear. They are now comfortable enough and fit very securely. I normally wear a medium (B) width and got the narrow width instead because Birkenstocks supposedly run wider than U.S. mediums. The narrows seem amply wide. Here is a problem I experienced: The removable insole wraps up the sides of your foot about 3/16 inch. The sole wraps up around the sides and very slightly (maybe 1/8 inch) over the top edge of the insole, to hold it in place. That edge of the sole was pressing on the outside of my foot at the base joint of my little toe and tended to cause some discomfort after a while. Adding another pair of insoles under the existing ones fixed the problem. The only downside now is having to fasten and unfasten at least the middle buckle to put them on and off.
